Jennifer is Sunny Stars principal. She has an MA Honours (2:1) in English Language from the University of Glasgow, in which she specialised in child language development and linguistics as well as studying theatre for two years as part of her degree.
She trained in drama with the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy before establishing Sunny Stars in January 2003, with classes in Brightons and Linlithgow before starting the Larbert class in August 2007 to cope with the ever increasing demand for places. The senior class was started in 2010 again due to demand from pupils graduating from the primary age group who were keen to continue with the Sunny Stars programme.
Jennifer is no stranger to the stage herself, having performed in numerous plays across the UK since the age of 13, initially with the Falkirk Players and most recently with the award winning Tryst Theatre. It was with Tryst Theatre that she played a lead role in the play After Liverpool which was runner up in the Scottish finals of the One Act Play competition in 2009. She was also nominated for a best actress award for her role in Sebastian at the East Kilbride theatre in 2008.
Lorraine has been a teaching assistant with Sunny Stars since the company started. She is a member of Falkirk Operatic Society with almost 10 years experience of appearing on stage, both as part of the chorus and in leading dancing roles. She has also been part of the committee and has taken part in numerous first aid and lifesaving courses.
Katie has been a teaching assistant with Sunny Stars for five years. She is currently studying Spanish and Music at the University of Glasgow - and has been in Spain this year teaching drama and music as part of her course. Katie has also appeared on stage with Tryst Theatre.
Kirsty is a former Sunny Stars pupil and is now a keen and enthusiastic member of our teaching team. She has danced with Stenhouse School of Dance from the age of three, and also cheerleads with the award winning Falkirk Fusion.
